Welcome to June! Berma Road is a trail that runs parallel to the Canal Towpath between Widewater and the Stop Gate below Great Falls, MD. On this walk, we’ll stick to the shade of the early summer canopy covering Berma Rd, and learn about the trees, wildflowers, ferns, and other plant species we observe on the shady slopes high above the Potomac River. On this afternoon of the full moon day in June, just ten days from the Summer Solstice, take in the wonder, nature, and history of the construction of the Washington Aqueduct.
