What are underwater grasses, and how are they integral to the Chesapeake Bay ecosystem?
Bay grasses, also known as submerged aquatic vegetation, are an integral part of the Chesapeake Bay ecosystem. Brooke Landry from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) explains what bay grasses need to grow and why their survival is important to Bay critters.

This is a good introduction. I would like to get more information in this format. I am sure there are great volumes of information about the Bay marine grasses and other aquatic vegetation. Could you provide links here also? Could you show how these issues tie to the various maryland state agencies and how the federal agencies are involved? Inquiring minds want to know. Thank you for producing this video. It is a good first step.
