Doug Austin

Before joining CBPO, Doug Austin was the Director of Government Affairs for the Institute of Clean Air Companies (ICAC), the non-profit trade association for U.S. companies involved in air pollution control. His duties included running technical committees, following air pollution regulations, and writing a weekly update for member companies. Before ICAC, Doug was a Program Manager at the Ozone Transport Commission (OTC) where he was involved with a host of regional air quality topics affecting the Northeast states including State Implementation Plan (SIP) attainment planning, regional haze, multi-pollutant planning, and photochemical modeling. Prior to the OTC, Doug was a SIP planner for 2 years in the Maryland Department of the Environment’s Air and Radiation Management Administration. Doug also has over a decade of technical sales and engineering experience with Betz Industrial selling boiler, cooling and wastewater treatment chemicals to both the industrial and utility sectors. Academically, Doug has a B.A. degree in Political Science from Denison University, a M.S. degree in Natural Resources Policy and Planning from Ohio State University, completed the graduate coursework in Environmental Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, and received a J.D. degree from Widener University of Law.
