Marilyn Yang
Marilyn joined the Chesapeake Research Consortium in July 2024 as the staffer for the Chesapeake Bay Program’s Healthy Watersheds Goal Implementation Team. In her role, she also supports the Forestry Workgroup, the Federal Facilities Workgroup, and the Land Use Workgroup. Driven by her passion and interest in environmental policy and justice, Marilyn has interned in the Maryland General Assembly, the EPA’s Office of Environmental Justice, and served as the Maryland Forestry Foundation’s 2024 Urban and Community Forestry Fellow. After graduating from the University of Maryland with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and Policy, Marilyn worked at the USDA’s Agricultural Research Service in the Sustainable Agricultural Systems Lab, where she aided in the development of new technological tools designed to empower farmers to improve sustainability efforts.
