In Belize we heard about the beautiful, dangerous, and delicious Lionfish which is an invasive playing havoc with the coral reef ecosystem. Ray Caye resort is encouraging local fisherman to take as many Lionfish as they can. They renamed their restaurant Lionfish and feature it on the menu.
I will encourage our local Fish monger, Lisa Carol Rose of Miss Mary Seafood to stock Blue Cat.
Very informative..I fish in the Potomac all the time..bluecats are great to eat
2 years ago, My husband and I committed to taking better care of Mother Earth. For us this includes, eating less meat which led us to eating more fish. Like the Fiona, I find it amazing that we are so close to large bodies of water and yet remain so fishless!!! This article introduced me to the idea of eating sustainable fish. I had not heard of the "The District FishWife" so just moved it to my shopping list. The idea of being able to order up and try a new
sustainable fish dish as our pallets rev up is exciting!
Thank you!
