Microplastic Monitoring & Science Strategy for the Chesapeake Bay

The Plastic Pollution Action Team (PPAT) was formed at the directive of the CBP Management Board and was charged to develop a preliminary ecological risk assessment model (Appendix C), in addition to a size classification document (Appendix B), and this science strategy. Many of the topics from those first two documents are found in this document to formulate a strategy to address microplastics bay-wide.

Call for Stewardship Co-Chair

This voluntary position leads and coordinates the work of the Stewardship Workgroup, with support from the GIT 5 coordinator and staffer. This is an opportunity to work with a broad team of partners within the Chesapeake Bay watershed representing government and nongovernment entities, to have significant impact on shaping and achieving commitments to public stewardship, and to diversifying the people who participate in and benefit from these efforts.

Call for Stewardship Co-Chair

The Chesapeake Bay Program's Stewardship Workgroup is seeking a co-chair to lead the workgroup alongside the current chair. This workgroup is part of the Fostering Chesapeake Stewardship Goal Implementation Team (GIT 5). This voluntary position leads and coordinates the work of the Stewardship Workgroup, with support from the GIT 5 coordinator and staffer. This is an opportunity to work with a broad team of partners within the Chesapeake Bay watershed representing government and nongovernment entities, to have significant impact on shaping and achieving commitments to public stewardship, and to diversifying the people who participate in and benefit from these efforts. The GIT 5 workgroups will have increasing opportunities to interact and collaborate with each other and with other workgroups within the Bay Program, for collective impact that crosses among stewardship, education, land conservation and public access.
